Seo, Jeong Managing Partner
Mr. Seo acts for individuals, international corporations, and the government in numerous headline antitrust cases. His proven abilities to pilot sophisticated competition litigations drive diverse entities to rely on his litigation strategies and legal advice. Mr. Seo focuses his studies on Economic Law and earned his Doctoral Degree in the field at Seoul National University. He also studied corporate governance at Stanford University. He co-authored the widely recognized textbook on Antitrust Law with Professor Kwon (former KFTC Chairman) and published numerous theses in Korea and in the United States. Prior to joining Hannuri, Mr. Seo had served as a judge. He dealt with wide range of cases, involving civil and criminal matters at Seoul Central District Court, Seoul Western District Court and Daejeon District Court until 2008. Later, he joined Kim & Chang and during the 8 years at Kim & Chang, he focused on antitrust, cross-border litigation and provisional cases. With the profound experiences, Mr. Seo brought out successful results in many complex situations, creating numerous leading cases for clients’ benefits. Valuing the power of communications and trust in client relationships, Mr. Seo attempts diligently to put effort in maintaining his acute professional skills in each case. Mr. Seo has great legal expertise and acumen and is a frequent speaker on fair trade issues in renowned media and academic conferences. Mr. Seo received his LL.B. from Seoul National University, passed the Korean Bar in 1994 and finished courses at the Judicial Research & Training Center in 1997.
